We arrived at beautiful Lake Velence and spent a lazy afternoon swimming, relaxing under the trees and watching countless little water snakes glide through the shallows. Thankfully they’re completely harmless, but they certainly kept us on our toes and led to the nickname ‘Snakey Lake’ 😂!
From there we rolled into Budapest and settled into our lovely Arena Camping spot. Over the next few days we explored one of Europe’s most beautiful cities with a free walking tour, a Danube river cruise, incredible architecture, and plenty of opportunities to soak up the city’s fascinating history.
But Budapest will always hold an extra special place in our hearts because it was where we celebrated our babies turning 10. ❤️
The day was filled with all the important things in life: Starbucks, magic shows, boba tea, aquaparks, Lángos, and Goulash. We spent hours splashing around at the amazing Palatinus Baths on Margaret Island, which was an absolute hit with the girls. Palatinus Baths
Our final stop in Hungary was the wonderful Alpacacamp, and what a way to say goodbye. After the energy and buzz of Budapest, it felt like a tranquil oasis. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, and spending the afternoon swimming in the pool while alpacas quietly grazed nearby will remain one of the highlights of our entire trip. 🦙💦
If you’re travelling through Hungary with a camper, don’t miss it: Alpacacamp
Hungary gave us adventure, history, incredible food, beautiful campsites, and memories we’ll treasure forever. Until next time. 🇭🇺✨
