What a Difference Four Days Makes

Wow. What a whirlwind first couple of days with Scamper.

Since picking up our new home on wheels in Frankfurt, we’ve already covered a fair bit of ground and created plenty of memories.

Our first stop was beautiful Würzburg, where we explored the stunning Residence, wandered across the Old Main Bridge, and took in the city’s incredible churches and architecture.

From there, it was on to Nuremberg. The medieval old town was fascinating, but my personal highlight was exploring the underground dungeons and learning more about the city’s history. The girls had a very different favourite — climbing inside giant water balls and rolling around on the river!

That night, we experienced our first free camp with Scamper. Equal parts exciting and slightly nerve-wracking, but we survived and even managed a decent night’s sleep.

The next morning, it was an early start for Prague. Along the way we figured out the Czech toll system for motorhomes (eventually!), settled into Camp Prague, and then caught the ferry across to explore Prague’s incredible Old Town.

It’s funny how quickly travel shifts your perspective. In the span of four days we’ve purchased and fitted out a camper, navigated many miles (on the WRONG side of the road 😁), experienced sooo many amazing things and have still somehow managed to slow down and enjoy the quite moments (like watching the ducklings this afternoon while waiting for the ferry), I’m so grateful for all of it!

Scamper is settling into the family nicely, be sure to check out wanderturesau on instagram for some great videos and stay tuned for the next adventure. 🚐
