Austria has absolutely delivered.
Vienna is one of those cities where you can turn any corner and find yourself staring at another incredible building, palace, church, or monument. The architecture is stunning, the coffee culture is alive and well, and the pastries are every bit as good as everyone says.
One of our unexpected highlights was Time Travel Vienna — an immersive journey through over 2,000 years of Viennese history featuring 5D cinema, VR and interactive exhibits. It was fun, engaging, and a fantastic way for the whole family to learn about the remarkable story of this city. Well worth a visit.
What struck us most was just how much history Vienna has lived through. From emperors and empires to sieges, music, art and innovation, it feels like every street has a story to tell.
Then, after soaking up the grandeur of the city, we headed to a gorgeous lakeside camp on the Danube, right on the border with Slovakia. Watching the river flow past, surrounded by nature, was the perfect contrast to the buzz of Vienna.
Austria has given us the best of both worlds: an awe-inspiring city rich with history and culture, and beautiful countryside that invites you to slow down and simply enjoy the view.
