Life Lessons from Scamper – Part 1 🚐

10 days. 5 countries. Countless stories…and some insights too.

  1. The “quick stop” isn’t always quick 😁.
  2. Google Maps and common sense regularly disagree.
  3. Every country has a different toll system, and they all seem designed by different committees who never spoke to each other.
  4. Every border crossing feels exciting, even when you don’t realise you’ve crossed one until 20 minutes later. Making the aforementioned toll situation even more interesting!
  5. Camper fridges are a test in Tetris skills (similar to work diaries 😂).
  6. Kids can survive on gelato, croissants and enthusiasm for surprisingly long periods.
  7. There are more variations in shower pressure, temperature and utility than one can reasonably conceptualise.
  8. A motorhome turns every supermarket into a treasure hunt 🏴‍☠️.
  9. It’s usually best to unplug the camper from the campsite power before driving away 😱.

Ten days ago we landed in Germany with a plan. Since then Scamper has carried us through 5 countries, medieval towns, castles, campsites, ferries, across borders and to many cool adventures.

Bring on Part 2. 🚐✨
